As she cried out to Him for help
He reached out with a word to quiet her distress
And she was blessed

She who worked hard and gave her all
She who studied, memorized, networked, and pushed herself beyond herself
She who proved she is just as strong, just as capable, and just as smart as all
She who achieved because she believed
She is blessed

She who arose early and went to bed late
Burning the candle at both ends of the wick
She prepared their meals, washed their clothes, and cleaned their home
She who worked til her bones ached and her back hunched
She who knew no matter how difficult the job, she was never alone
She was blessed because she believed.
She was blessed because He is He.

Blessed is she who believes
Even after a man has deceived
Even as she cries in anguish and wonders why

And is ready to end it all because the pain is too great...the wound too wide

With a heart ready to receive

When there is no visible proof He is even alive

Blessed is she who works side by side along men in that factory
Proving her worth and carrying her weight
She is blessed because she knows who works alongside her for her sake
She who teaches and nurtures, she who leads and she who follows
She is blessed because her life is not hollow
How can it be when she believes

Blessed is she who believes as she sings His praises
Whether it be in the choir loft, center stage, in a pew, or while she washes her dishes
Blessed is she who believes as she smothers her kids in kisses
Blessed is she who believes as she kneels in prayer for her family, her friends, her neighbors
Blessed is she as soaks in the promised words He gave her

Blessed is she who turns to Him when it all gets to be too much
When she who is tired, confused, overwhelmed, or sad
Blessed is she when she turns to Him because she is just plain mad!
Because she believes He is her Resting Place
Because she believes He is her Teacher
Because she believes He is her Overcomer
Because she believes He is her Comforter
Because she believes He is the Prince of Peace
Blessed is she because she believes He is He
He will fulfill His promises to her
And because she believes
She is blessed to receive all of His glorious wonder
She is blessed to receive
Because no matter she sees
No matter what the world perceives
No matter the enemy’s tease...
She knows He is He
