Bride

Bride I stand at the end of an aisle Looking toward forever Only a few short feet away Is the One I’ve walked the world to find I’ve been to hell and back So that I could follow You to heaven I lived in the darkest night In order to bask in your brightest light The scent of my bouquet is intoxicating Rose of Sharon, Lily of the Valley Perfume that coats my soul My gown is so pure white that it is iridescent Sparkling like diamonds In direct contrast To the filthy rags that I walked in wearing But my Bridegroom replaced my rags with robes of righteousness He sent me for the ultimate spa treatment Cleansing me from all impurities Wiping away all iniquities Soaking me in frankincense and myrrh Bejeweling me with His treasures Adorning me with the crown of His love As the angelic music plays I take the small step forward Assurance and promise pulling me toward Happily Ever After One small step toward eyes that cannot lie And suddenly He is beside me Promise...

Holding Hands

Two years ago I held your hand for the last time.  A hand I’d held a thousand times.  A hand that held mine  Since before I could tell time. An infant, unaware and unable to remember  When I was presented to you and a bond was formed  Instantly sealing us together  Making me yours and you mine. More handholds than one can count over the years.  A number that goes on my list of inquiries for that day I sit with Jesus inside His pearly gates.  Your hands have always spoken volumes to me. Saying words that you didnt always know how to articulate.  Speaking when emotion had the best of you.  And finally relaying your love when your voice had failed you completely.
