Bride

I stand at the end of an aisle
Looking toward forever
Only a few short feet away
Is the One I’ve walked the world to find
I’ve been to hell and back
So that I could follow You to heaven
I lived in the darkest night
In order to bask in your brightest light

The scent of my bouquet is intoxicating
Rose of Sharon, Lily of the Valley
Perfume that coats my soul
My gown is so pure white that it is iridescent
Sparkling like diamonds
In direct contrast
To the filthy rags that I walked in wearing
But my Bridegroom replaced my rags with robes of righteousness

He sent me for the ultimate spa treatment
Cleansing me from all impurities
Wiping away all iniquities
Soaking me in frankincense and myrrh
Bejeweling me with His treasures
Adorning me with the crown of His love

As the angelic music plays
I take the small step forward
Assurance and promise pulling me toward
Happily Ever After
One small step toward eyes that cannot lie
And suddenly He is beside me
Promises being spoken
Whispers that speak right to the soul
And seal my eternity in the heavens

He loves me with an everlasting love
He is jealous for me
He has pursued me with passion
And He will never abandon me
He will not lie, He cannot
He will never betray me
And He will never let me down

He will protect me, provide for me
He will give me the desires of my heart
And all I desire is more of Him
He will carry me when I’m weak
And He will give me rest when I am weary
He will teach me new things and make the unknown known
He is every dream I’ve ever dreamed
And every vision I’ve ever seen

Pursued for a lifetime
Given sight when I was blind
The floodgates open
My love pours out at His feet
And I bow before my King
My husband, My bridegroom
I am His and no one will ever be able to separate us now

Glorious Sunset in the East

As I watch the sun rise brilliantly in the eastern sky I can't help but wonder if today is the day my heart will cry  My gaze belongs to the east  Where she lies  Fighting to breathe Yet pleading for release  Will her sunset be as glorious as this sunrise? As bright and blinding before my eyes? As she gives up the last of her earthly ties  And on the wings of the angels she flies  Golden light that breaks free across the horizon  God's Son light reminding me she is one of the chosen  As she passes from life to life there is no more precious a moment  At this sunrise time has stood frozen  Spirit and body now at ease  As they partake of the celebration feast  My Meme and Jesus Oh, how my heart's breaking...over that glorious sunset in the east
